For numerous individuals in the post-physical-office era, it’s a daunting situation: Being on a video call and discovering something inappropriate in the background or foreground. A new feature in FaceTime within iOS 26, brought to light by iDeviceHelp, tackles this issue by pausing the video if someone is undressing during a call. The video for others will stop, displaying a message: “Audio and video are paused because you may be revealing something sensitive. If you feel uneasy, you should end the call.” Choices include Resume Audio and Video or End Call. As highlighted by 9to5Mac, Apple introduced a similar functionality last month as part of new family tools for child accounts. “Communication Safety expands to intervene when nudity is detected in FaceTime video calls, and to blur out nudity in Shared Albums in Photos,” stated Apple in an announcement. It appears this has been broadened to all users. The feature is active in the iOS 26 developer beta, and we will observe if it persists in the public beta launching in July.
