Fallout Season 2 Debut Showcases Legendary Fallout 4 Site

The second season of *Fallout* is filled with Easter eggs and nods to the post-apocalyptic Bethesda titles it is inspired by, including a notable site usually populated with foes. In Season 2, episode 1, Lucy (Ella Purnell) and Cooper (Walton Goggins) are on a quest to find her father throughout the Wasteland when they encounter a dilapidated outdoor cinema, where vehicles and spectators have remained stationary since the nuclear explosion occurred 200 years prior. This is the Starlight Drive-In, a place you might explore or skip in *Fallout 4*.

Production designer Howard Cummings has crafted an impressive representation of the Starlight Drive-In for the show, showcasing its retro-futuristic aesthetic and towering, worn movie screen. The theater’s battered marquee indicates that the last film aired was *A Man and His Dog 3*, featuring Cooper Howard, paired with a *Dracula* movie.

In the games, the drive-in and its vicinity are teeming with mole rats, radroaches (irradiated cockroaches), Feral Ghouls (mutated humans resembling zombies), and the sporadic Super Mutant—an imposing foe yet to be seen in the *Fallout* television adaptation. Thankfully, Lucy and Coop do not face any such adversaries in this episode.

In another reference for *Fallout* enthusiasts, the drive-in is situated close to the entrance of Vault 24, a vault omitted from *Fallout: New Vegas* (allowing the TV series a fresh start for its narrative).

There are numerous additional Easter eggs for *Fallout* fans to uncover in the series.

*Fallout* Season 2 debuts on Dec. 16 at 9 p.m. ET on Prime Video, with a fresh episode airing each week.
