Football Manager 25 Scrapped Just Prior to Its Anticipated Launch

As the Super Bowl nears, discussions around American football are on the rise. Nevertheless, noteworthy developments are also surfacing in the realm of association football.

Game developer Sports Interactive has revealed that *Football Manager 25* will not be debuting in March as initially anticipated. The title had already been pushed back from its regular November 2024 release to March, but instead of another delay, the studio has opted for a complete cancellation. Efforts in development will now focus on the forthcoming iteration of the acclaimed soccer management simulation.

Though *Football Manager* may not enjoy the same level of recognition in the U.S. as *Madden*, it boasts a loyal global following, especially among soccer fans. This series, which prioritizes roster management and scouting rather than in-game play, has been released every year since 2004. The prior delay of *Football Manager 25* was already out of the ordinary, and now, for the first time in twenty years, there will be no new installment of the series this year.

According to *Polygon*, it is uncommon for a prosperous annual sports game to be canceled. Nonetheless, *Football Manager 25* was experiencing substantial revisions, such as a redesigned interface, enhanced graphics, and—for the first time—the addition of women’s soccer. These ambitious advancements likely made it challenging to finalize the game on time.

Fans will now have to wait for the upcoming release to enjoy these highly anticipated enhancements.
