Forthcoming Made By Google Event in August: Anticipated Devices and Announcements

The wait is almost at an end, as we now have an official reveal date for the Google Pixel 10 smartphone series. Google has scheduled August 20 for its upcoming Made by Google event, where the Pixel 10 devices are anticipated to be launched, along with potentially additional products. You can tune in to the live event next month, but in the meantime, here’s what we anticipate.

What to anticipate from Made by Google 2025

This event will probably center around smartphones, but there could be more in store.

Pixel 10

We have an extensive collection of rumors and leaks surrounding the Pixel 10 lineup, but here are the main highlights. The design of the standard Pixel 10 may not differ significantly from the Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9a did not act as a model for the Pixel 10. All Pixel 10 devices are anticipated to feature the new in-house Tensor 5 chip for enhanced performance compared to last year’s Tensor 4. Screen brightness could see improvements, and the rear camera setup is expected to undergo substantial changes. The base Pixel model will reportedly incorporate a third lens, akin to prior Pixel Pro models, featuring a 50MP main lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a new 10.8MP telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom.

Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL

This year’s Pro variants are likely to have minor enhancements over last year’s models. Per Android Central, display specifications may stay the same, but battery capacity could be upgraded. The Pixel 10 Pro XL could potentially feature a 5,200mAh battery. Google may eliminate the 128GB storage option from the 10 Pro XL and raise the starting price by $100. Camera specifications are rumored to be consistent with those from last year.

Pixel 10 Pro Fold

The previous year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold was a popular foldable, but competition is stiffer this year with Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 7. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold may not experience major design changes but will include three rear camera lenses, similar to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Battery capacity is rumored to increase to at least 5,000mAh. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold might debut as the first foldable to achieve a full IP68 waterproof rating, with a potential price reduction of $200 to $1,600.

Pixel Watch 4

Leaked images from April indicate that the new Pixel Watch could feature slimmer bezels while preserving a rounded design. It may not have traditional charging pins, suggesting a shift towards wireless charging. There may be new buttons, though their functions remain unclear. Health tracking capabilities will stay unknown until the event.

Pixel Buds

Information on new earbuds is limited, but there are minor leaks concerning the speculated Pixel Buds 2a. Leaker Arsene Lupin has indicated possible color options, but specifications are still unclear. They may make an appearance at the event.

Anything else?

Be prepared for surprises. While the emphasis will be on the listed products, there may be additional announcements. Google might follow up on hints from Google I/O earlier this year, such as XR smart glasses and Samsung’s Project Moohan headset. All will be unveiled shortly.
