Before Pedro Pascal slips into the suit for the 2025 film *Fantastic Four: First Steps*, audiences can see him in *Freaky Tales*, a new movie set in the ’80s, crafted by writers and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (*Captain Marvel*).
Set in Oakland in 1987, *Freaky Tales* follows an experienced criminal (Pascal, *Gladiator II*) who embarks on one last heist—because that’s what they all do. Yet, his journey is merely one of four intertwined stories in this anthology film, which delves into various themes, showcasing everything from aspiring rappers to NBA stars who moonlight as cult leaders.
The film’s debut trailer offers a glimpse of a frenetic blend of action, featuring a dramatic sword fight and a fierce showdown between punks and neo-Nazis. It also showcases the impressive ensemble cast, which includes Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn (*Secret Invasion*), Jay Ellis (*Insecure*), pop sensation Normani, Dominique Thorne (*Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*), Jack Champion (*Scream VI*), Ji-young Yoo (*Expats*), and the late Angus Cloud (*Euphoria*).
*Freaky Tales* is set to hit theaters on April 4.
