Galaxy Z TriFold: Specs, Features, Cost

Undecided between acquiring a new smartphone and a tablet? Samsung has made your decision easier with the launch of the Galaxy Z TriFold, combining both functionalities in a single device.

Samsung has officially unveiled its trifold phone, cleverly named the TriFold, which features three display panels and two hinges that unfold into a 10-inch screen. This tablet-sized display, the largest ever seen on a Galaxy phone, is seamlessly integrated into a foldable smartphone.

The Dynamic 2X AMOLED display showcases a 2160 x 1584 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, acting as a cohesive large screen. Alternatively, it can function as three separate 6.5-inch smartphones, enabling users to run three distinct apps at the same time on each panel. Files can be effortlessly dragged and dropped across all three screens as the TriFold operates as one unified device.

When folded, the TriFold’s exterior screen, featuring a 6.5-inch 2520 x 1080 resolution display, can be utilized like a typical smartphone.

Fitted with a 200 MP camera and powered by the specially tailored Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, the Galaxy Z TriFold remains relatively slim when opened, with a thickness ranging from 4.2mm to 3.9mm. In its folded state, it measures 12.9mm thick.

The Galaxy Z TriFold is the inaugural smartphone that can run Samsung DeX, converting the device into a desktop PC-like environment.

In contrast to many distinctive smartphones that do not make it to the U.S. market, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z TriFold in the U.S. during the first quarter of 2026.

The lingering question pertains to the pricing for U.S. consumers. Samsung has yet to reveal the U.S. price, but the TriFold will debut sooner in South Korea. When it arrives there on December 12, 2025, it will be priced at approximately $2,500.

It’s unclear if Samsung will keep this pricing consistent for the U.S. market, but with the TriFold set to land in the U.S. shortly, answers will be available soon.
