### Gmail’s Search is Finally Getting Smarter
Gmail’s search capability has often been a source of annoyance, but that’s set to improve.
On Thursday, [Google](https://mashable.com/category/google) unveiled a new AI-driven search enhancement for Gmail, aimed at providing more pertinent results when searching your inbox.
In the past, Gmail’s search simply displayed emails in chronological order according to your keywords. If your inbox resembles mine, this frequently resulted in wading through countless irrelevant emails to locate what you truly required.
With this enhancement, Gmail’s search will now consider factors such as recency, frequently accessed emails, and your most regular contacts. Google states that this means the emails you’re seeking will be “far more likely to be at the top of your search results.” At last!
The upgraded search is being rolled out worldwide for personal Google account users on both the web and the official Gmail application for Android and iOS.
Once it becomes available, you’ll have the option to toggle between “most relevant” and “most recent” results right above the search results.
Currently, this feature is not accessible for business users, but Google has indicated that it will be introduced “in the future.”
