It is essential to understand that this standalone Gemini app differs from utilizing Gemini within the Google app on iOS. Although the experience bears similarities, the standalone app eliminates the additional features of the Google app and concentrates exclusively on Gemini. Users can engage with Gemini by typing or verbalizing their inquiries, and they also have the choice to include photos with their questions.
A key highlight of the standalone app is **Gemini Live**, which provides a more interactive experience. This feature is reserved for the standalone app and is not present in the Google app, making it a significant incentive for users to choose the dedicated Gemini app.
The app can be downloaded for **free** from Apple’s App Store, although it includes in-app purchases. Users can upgrade to **Gemini Advanced**, which is a part of Google’s One AI premium subscription. For a monthly payment of **$18.99**, subscribers gain access to a more sophisticated version of Gemini, integration with applications like Gmail and Docs, and priority access to new and experimental features.
### Gemini Live is solely available in the standalone app.
