Google has undone some of its latest updates to its emoji interface. Mashable reported on major design modifications in Gboard, Google’s emoji keyboard, which had been launched in a beta version roughly a month ago. These modifications involved the elimination of the “All” tab and a reworking of the emoji, sticker, and GIF icons for enhanced clarity.
As a part of the redesign, Google eliminated the delete icon and substituted it with a floating action button that only became visible when emojis were chosen. However, 9to5 Google, a website concentrating on Google, pointed out that this choice has been rolled back due to its lack of popularity. As a result, the specific delete button will be brought back.
It’s worth mentioning that these modifications are still included in Gboard’s most recent beta, indicating that they remain under evaluation. This is the intent of a beta: to detect and fix problems. Ideally, everything will be refined by the time these changes are available to all users.
