The revelation was made by Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, during Sony’s CES 2025 keynote on Monday. The critically acclaimed 2017 open-world adventure from Guerrilla Games is already recognized for its cinematic narrative, and it is now set to transition to the silver screen. *Horizon: Zero Dawn* chronicles the adventures of Aloy, a talented machine hunter voiced by Ashly Burch, as she traverses a breathtaking, post-apocalyptic America filled with mechanical dinosaurs and other robotic creatures.

“I’m thrilled to announce for the first time today that Columbia Pictures and PlayStation Productions are in the initial phases of creating a film adaptation of the award-winning *Horizon: Zero Dawn*,” Qizilbash stated. “Just envision Aloy’s cherished origin story vividly brought to life in a colorful, futuristic world brimming with enormous machines, now for your viewing on the big screen.”

Though specifics are still limited, two points are apparent: this project will likely come with a significant budget, and selecting the right actress for Aloy will be one of Hollywood’s most heated discussions. With the *Horizon* franchise already featuring a sequel, *Horizon Forbidden West*, fans will certainly have elevated expectations for the live-action film.
