What is Connections?
The NYT‘s most recent daily word game has become a viral hit on social media. The Times acknowledges associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for developing the game and including it in their Games section. Connections can be played via web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to categorize four words that share a common connection.

Each game features 16 words organized into four groups. These collections can consist of anything from book names to software titles or countries. Although several words may appear to be connected, only one valid answer exists.
Successfully identifying all four words in a group eliminates them from the board. Incorrect answers count as errors—players are allowed up to four errors before the game concludes.

Participants can rearrange and shuffle the board to more easily identify connections. Each group is assigned a color: yellow signifies the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared through social media.
