What does Connections entail?

The NYT‘s freshest daily word challenge has turned into a phenomenon on social media. The Times attributes the creation of this new word game and its introduction to the publication’s Games section to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Players can engage in Connections via both web browsers and mobile devices, needing to categorize four words that share a link.

Every puzzle contains 16 words, arranged into four distinct categories. These categories might encompass a variety of topics such as book titles, software, country names, among others. Although various words may appear to connect, there is only one definitive answer.

When a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. Incorrect guesses are considered mistakes—players may make up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players have the option to rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Furthermore, each group is designated a color code, starting with yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared with friends on social platforms.
