What is Connections?
The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge has surged in popularity across social media. The Times acknowledges the role of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu in the game’s creation and its inclusion in the publication’s Games section. Connections is accessible on both web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to categorize four words that have something in common.

Every puzzle includes 16 words, with each cluster of words organized into four specific categories. These groupings could involve anything from titles of books, names of software, country designations, etc. Although numerous words may appear to fit together, only one arrangement is correct.
If a player identifies all four words in a group accurately, those words are taken off the board. An incorrect guess is considered a mistake—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Moreover, each group is color-coded with yellow representing the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Much like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social platforms.
