What is Connections?

The NYT‘s newest daily word game has turned into a phenomenon on social media. The Times attributes the creation of this new word game to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, who incorporated it into the publication’s Games section. Connections can be enjoyed on web browsers and mobile platforms, requiring players to group four words that have a similar connection.

Each puzzle consists of 16 words, categorized into four different sets. These sets might contain anything from book titles, software names, country titles, and more. While several words might appear to connect, there is only one accurate solution.

If a player successfully identifies all four words in a category, those words are cleared from the board. A wrong guess is considered a mistake—players can have up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate finding connections. Furthermore, each category is color-coded, with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
