What is Connections?
The NYT‘s latest daily word challenge has taken social media by storm. The Times attributes the creation of the game and its addition to the Games section to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Players can engage with Connections through web browsers and mobile devices, tasked with categorizing four related words.

Each puzzle comprises 16 words organized into four groups. These categories may encompass anything from book titles to software or country names. While several words might appear to belong together, there is only one accurate grouping.
If a player accurately clusters all four words, those words are eliminated from the game board. A wrong guess counts as an error—players can have up to four errors before the game concludes.

Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to enhance their ability to find connections. Each group is marked by color coding: yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, players can share their outcomes on social media with friends.
