What is Connections?
The NYT‘s newest daily word game has turned into a social media phenomenon. The Times acknowledges associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for her role in developing this new word game for the Games section. Connections can be played on both web and mobile platforms, requiring participants to organize four words that share a common theme.
Each puzzle presents 16 words categorized into four groups. These groups could range from literary titles to software or country names. While various words may appear to fit together, there is only one right solution.
<pWhen a player successfully groups all four words in a category, those words are eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is counted as a mistake—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.
Players may also rearrange and shuffle the board to facilitate the identification of connections. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your scores with friends on social media.
