Black Friday season is nearing, which is the prime time to grab an excellent TV deal. However, if your current television isn’t enhancing your Thursday night football experience, you might want to consider upgrading sooner.
Here’s a fantastic option for casual viewers: Starting Sept. 10, Amazon has the new 55-inch Hisense E6 Series QLED 4K Fire TV available for only $287.99. That’s a 33% reduction from its regular price of $429.99, marking its first discount since its introduction in August, according to the Amazon price-tracking website CamelCamelCamel.
At the time of this writing, Amazon was also offering complimentary deluxe delivery and unpacking (valued at $29.99).
For perspective, only two 55-inch TVs fell below the $300 mark during Amazon’s Prime Day event in July — yet another good chance for TV deals — and just one was a QLED. Leah Stodart, our TV specialist, recommends these models “for individuals whose TV use is primarily during daylight hours, particularly for sports,” as they provide brighter images and are “superior in managing glare” compared to standard LED TVs.
The 55-inch QLED TV discounted for Prime Day also did not include the AI Light Sensor that Hisense’s E6 Series model provides. This capability automatically modifies the TV’s brightness according to its environment.
While the E6 Series’ standard refresh rate is 60Hz.
