Hoppers Teaser: Pixar Converts a Human Mind into a Beaver Form

Pixar’s forthcoming *Hoppers* combines elements of James Cameron’s *Avatar* with a nature documentary. Directed by Daniel Chong (*We Bare Bears*), the story centers on 11-year-old Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda), a young animal enthusiast who aims to safeguard a glade near her residence from Mayor Jerry’s (voiced by Jon Hamm) detrimental construction efforts.

In her quest to protect the wildlife, Mabel utilizes Beaverton University’s “hopping” technology, which permits human consciousness to inhabit synthetic animal forms. This allows Hoppers to blend into the animal realm and gain insights into their lives, providing an extraordinary perspective on nature.

The film’s teaser features Mabel likening the technology to *Avatar*, prompting scientists to retort, “This is nothing like *Avatar*!” It resembles *Avatar*, but with a cuter twist. The teaser showcases Mabel’s adventures in hopping, including encounters with birds and deer, and adjusting to a beaver’s lifestyle. In a comedic moment, Mabel rescues a beaver from a bear, only to find out the beaver had resigned to its fate under “Pond Rules.” Mabel still has a lot to discover about the animal world.

*Hoppers* is set to premiere in theaters on March 6.
