**Elon Musk May Turn Out to Be the Greatest Beneficiary of Trump’s 2024 Win**
While Donald Trump might have clinched the 2024 presidential election, Elon Musk could potentially benefit even more than the soon-to-be 47th President of the United States.
Musk made a substantial financial investment in Trump’s campaign, reportedly shelling out millions to back him. Yet, this gesture was not solely one of kindness. Numerous Musk-owned enterprises—like Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), xAI, The Boring Company, and Neuralink—are significantly reliant on government contracts and financial support, having already reaped billions in federal funding.
Following Trump’s success, Musk has integrated into the president-elect’s close circle. Reports indicate that Musk has enhanced his influence, providing policy and appointment recommendations to the upcoming administration. He even participated in a post-election discussion between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Still, one question lingers: How will Musk reconcile his political involvement with managing his extensive business empire? It appears Musk intends to form an “A-Team” to serve as his representatives in government.
### Musk’s “A-Team”
“America’s A-Team typically operates in the private sector,” Musk posted on X shortly after Trump’s electoral victory. “Occasionally, reforming government becomes critical enough that the A-Team dedicates time to it. This is such a moment.”
Musk seems to be positioning himself to sway Trump’s administration by suggesting trusted associates for significant positions, thereby securing beneficial outcomes for his business interests.
As reported by the *Financial Times*, some individuals Musk is expected to endorse include Steve Davis, president of The Boring Company. Davis has played a pivotal role in Musk’s pro-Trump lobbying this year and was key in slashing 80% of X’s workforce post-acquisition. However, Davis’s company has faced scrutiny over inadequate workplace safety practices.
Another potential nominee is Omead Afshar, who aided Musk in executing considerable layoffs at both X and Tesla earlier this year. Jared Birchall, Musk’s right-hand associate managing his family office and closely collaborating with xAI, Neuralink, and The Boring Company, might also assume a significant position in the Trump administration if Musk has any leverage.
### SpaceX Set to Prosper
Among Musk’s enterprises, SpaceX is poised to benefit the most from eased regulations and advantageous government contracts. According to *The New York Times*, Musk has already urged Trump to consider SpaceX personnel for vital roles within the Department of Defense. Possible candidates include Tim Hughes, Senior Vice President for Global Business and Affairs at SpaceX, former Air Force general and SpaceX consultant Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy, and Senior Director of Government Affairs Mathew Dunn.
While Tesla already enjoys tax incentives, the company could encounter additional regulatory hurdles as it advocates for the advancement of autonomous driving technology, especially its proposed robotaxi. Although many of these regulatory obstacles arise at the state level, Musk might leverage his influence in the federal government to press state regulators. Peter Scheutzow, Tesla’s head of autopilot and AI, along with safety chief Suraj Nagaraj, are also prospective candidates for positions within the administration.
### Silicon Valley Connections
Musk’s impact may stretch beyond his own businesses. Notable Silicon Valley figures, including venture capitalists and hedge fund magnates like David Sacks, Jason Calacanis, and Bill Ackman, have expressed strong support for Musk’s political initiatives and could be influential in a Trump administration. Moreover, Musk’s ties in the defense sector, such as Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale and Anduril co-founder Palmer Luckey, might also lead to roles within Trump’s Department of Defense.
### A Promising Outlook for Musk
Regardless of who Trump ultimately appoints for his administration, the outlook for U.S. government policy seems bright for Elon Musk—as long as he maintains a favorable relationship with Trump.
