Black Panther director Ryan Coogler returns with another blockbuster. The third film Warner Bros. has launched in 2025 featuring an A-lister in dual roles, Sinners is “easily one of the finest films of the year,” as stated by Mashable’s chief movie reviewer.
Alongside Michael B. Jordan times two, it features Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye), Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Wunmi Mosaku (Passenger), Jayme Lawson (The Woman King), Omar Benson Miller (True Lies), and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods). With hints of horror, history, and musical theater interwoven, it’s a genre-fluid cinematic experience in every way.
If you haven’t seen it in theaters yet, you still have the chance. However, if you prefer to view it at home, it’s now accessible on digital-on-demand platforms as of June 3. Here’s all the information you need regarding how to watch Sinners at home.
What is Sinners about?
Set in the 1930s Jim Crow-era South, Sinners showcases Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as Smoke and Stack, twin brothers who return to their hometown with plans to establish a juke joint — only for its grand opening to face a disruption by something supernaturally monstrous.
“There are vampires in the film, but it encompasses much more than that. It’s merely one of several components, and I believe we’ll astonish the audience with it,” director Ryan Coogler shared at a press conference.

Is Sinners worth watching?
Sinners represents a massive triumph for original horror. It’s only the second film in 2025 to exceed the $250 million domestic box office figure and is among the top 10 highest-grossing horror films to date. Not only has it achieved significant box office success, now surpassing $338 million globally and $258 million domestically, but the reviews are exceptional. It currently boasts a nearly perfect 97 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 96 percent audience rating. That’s quite an achievement.
“Sinners is more than an exhilarating vampire film. Much like Black Panther, it transcends the boundaries of its genre to emerge as a magnificent film, radiating with spirit, strength, and intent,” writes Mashable’s Kristy Puchko in her review of the film. “Seamlessly combining vampire horror into a distinctive narrative of regret, resilience, and redemption, Coogler and Jordan have crafted a cinematic masterpiece that is terrifying, gratifying, and unforgettable.”
