If You Possess a Galaxy Phone, Samsung Encourages You to Enable These Anti-Theft Features Immediately.

Samsung has recently recommended Galaxy smartphone users activate the company’s new anti-theft functionalities. In a press announcement, Samsung underscored that its newest security offerings are being extended to additional smartphones throughout the year, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering more intelligent, robust protection to assist users in safeguarding their data and retaining control, even in risky scenarios. These security enhancements are part of the latest software, One UI 7. A pivotal feature, Theft Protection, encompasses:

– A motion-detection mechanism that secures the phone when grabbed
– An automatic locking function if the phone remains offline for a prolonged duration
– The capability to remotely lock a stolen device

Other security enhancements comprise biometric verification for changes to security settings and a delay function to hinder immediate resetting of biometric data.

Samsung announced that these features are now being deployed to older flagship models, including the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and the S23 and S22 series. This safety notification comes after a comparable announcement made for users in the U.K. earlier this month. Annika Bizon, Samsung’s mobile experience VP of product and marketing, noted that these features have been incorporated into various models and additional updates are on the way. She stressed the importance of ensuring customer safety and security while utilizing mobile devices and pledged to enhance awareness regarding the available security features.
