Instagram’s Edits has rolled out a number of eagerly awaited features, including teleprompters and overlays, as revealed this week on Instagram.
“New on Edits,” the Creators’ Instagram account posted on Wednesday. “Update your Edits app now to uncover additional insights, overlays, and the highly desired Teleprompter feature, which allows you to read your script while filming and concentrate on getting the ideal take. Swipe through for further details — and leave a comment below to share what features you’d like us to incorporate next!”
The most notable update is probably the teleprompter feature, which streamlines content creation. To utilize it, begin recording a video by tapping the record button located at the bottom of the Edits screen. On the left side, you’ll see five options: a music icon, a figure within a dotted box, a timer button, a zoom button, and at the bottom, a teleprompter button. Select the teleprompter, input your script, and modify the text size and teleprompter speed via the sliders located at the bottom left of the script display.
Meta debuted Edits in late April. Similar to TikTok’s CapCut, the app is crafted to aid in the creation of Reels, but it is also clearly positioned as a competitor to CapCut. The difficulty lies in the fact that CapCut is more entrenched and provides a broader array of features than Reels, so the app is working hard to catch up.
Since its introduction two months ago, Edits has incorporated new fonts, filters, and voice effects, enhanced cropping tools, 35 transition effects, alignment guides and beat markers, tracking sensitivity, and additional features, as noted by Social Media Today.
