Apple’s complete range of **Apple Intelligence** functionalities isn’t fully prepared for its official launch, but you can still preview a few of them ahead of their complete rollout.
This week, Apple has released the third beta version of **iOS 18.2**. If you’ve successfully removed yourself from the **Apple Intelligence waitlist**, this beta offers a chance to experiment with some of the innovative AI-driven features. It’s important to highlight that these features were already showcased in last week’s public beta, with the newest release primarily aimed at resolving bugs.
### iOS 18.2 Beta: 4 New Features of Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence has previously rolled out some intriguing AI tools in earlier beta versions, and now with the iOS 18.2 developer beta 3, you can keep exploring the following features:
#### 1. Image Playground
To start, we have **Image Playground**, Apple’s text-to-image generative AI solution.
It operates as you would anticipate: You input a description of what you wish to visualize, and the application generates an image based on your request. However, it’s more than just a simple tool. The software can propose additional components to enrich your image, and you can even start with existing photos for your projects. Once you’re satisfied with your creation, sharing it via the Messages app is a breeze.
#### 2. Genmoji
Next up is **Genmoji**, Apple’s feature for generating emojis through AI.
With Genmoji, you can craft personalized emojis using text descriptions or even images of individuals. This creates a uniquely tailored emoji experience, customized to fit your preferences.
#### 3. Visual Intelligence
On the more functional side, there’s **Visual Intelligence**.
This feature is specifically available to **iPhone 16** users. It allows you to launch the Camera app, point it at an object, and obtain relevant data about what you observe. For instance, if you direct your camera at a business, you might get information like operational hours or customer feedback. Visual Intelligence can also detect phone numbers and addresses from images, facilitating easy addition to your contacts. Furthermore, it allows copying and pasting text directly from images, likely one of its standout capabilities.
#### 4. Siri with ChatGPT
Lastly, Siri receives an enhancement with **ChatGPT** integration in the iOS 18.2 beta.
Here’s the process: If Siri fails to deliver a satisfactory response to your inquiry, you can opt to consult ChatGPT instead. Siri will display the reply, but the information will be sourced from ChatGPT. Unlike the web version of ChatGPT, no account creation is needed to access this functionality. (Keep that in mind, OpenAI!)
