iPhone 17 May Debut in the Second Week of September

A possible launch date for the iPhone 17 has been estimated, indicating it could be released sooner than anticipated. The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, expected to come in black and perhaps include enhanced battery life, still lack an official release date. Although specifics like pricing, hardware, and colors are not yet disclosed, there have been multiple fascinating leaks. One noteworthy leak from Mac Rumors, credited to leaker Majin Bu, indicates that the iPhone 17 Air could be offered in the MacBook Air’s Sky Blue finish.

The most recent speculation regarding the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air is rooted in calculated forecasts rather than leaks. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman noted in the Power On newsletter that new iPhone specifications and purchasing options might be unveiled during the week of September 8.

Gurman pointed out that Apple generally releases new iPhones the week following Labor Day, which this year falls on September 1, suggesting a launch in the week of September 8. This is consistent with Apple’s trend, as nine out of the past ten Apple events took place during the second week of September, according to MacRumors. The exception occurred in 2000 when the event was postponed due to the pandemic.

Gurman contends that Apple tends to avoid scheduling events on Fridays, likely steering clear of September 11. This narrows down potential dates for the iPhone event to September 8, 9, or 10. “It could be that Monday (the 8th), though I suspect the 9th or 10th is probably more likely,” Gurman stated, as reported by PC Mag.
