IShowSpeed Condemns AI Deepfakes After Watching Sora 2 Clips Featuring Himself

Creator IShowSpeed has a strong dislike for AI deepfakes — and he isn’t the only one.

During a recent livestream, the popular streamer with over 45 million YouTube subscribers watched several Sora 2 videos that depicted deepfakes of him laughing, revealing that he’s gay (“No no chat, this is not real. This is actually AI”), kissing a fan, racing a cheetah, and traveling to Nepal (“Look, bro. I haven’t even been to Nepal yet”). In response to the clips, he remarked that he was “turning this shit off.”

“Why does this seem too realistic? Bro, no, that’s just like my face,” he commented.

OpenAI’s Sora 2 allows users to generate videos using the likeness of celebrities — but only if those celebrities give their consent. While IShowSpeed seemingly provided permission, he confessed during his stream that it “was not the right move to do.”

“Whoever advised me to make it public, chat, you’re not considering my safety, bro. I’m messed up, chat,” he expressed.

IShowSpeed isn’t the sole public figure against the use of AI deepfakes. Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin Williams, recently implored fans on Instagram to “please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad,” as per IGN. Steve Harvey and Scarlett Johansson have both advocated for legislation aimed at prohibiting deepfakes, according to CNN.
