Jamie Lee Curtis Gives Emotional Address on LA Wildfires

The wildfires in Los Angeles persist in causing destruction, compelling more than 100,000 people to evacuate, resulting in at least five fatalities, and leaving 2,000 buildings either damaged or obliterated. The Pacific Palisades region has suffered significantly, eliciting strong emotional responses from both residents and public figures.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who resides in the Pacific Palisades, appeared on *The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon* and delivered a poignant message regarding the disaster. “As you know, where I live is on fire right now. Literally, the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning,” Curtis conveyed during the interview. “I flew here last night, and while I was on the plane, I started receiving texts. It’s just a catastrophe. This is where I live—everything. The store I shop at, the schools my children attend, and so many of my friends have now lost their homes.” She continued, “It’s a truly terrible situation. I’m returning first thing tomorrow to be with my family and assist my friends. If you know anyone on the West Coast, or even if you don’t, please support the American Red Cross. They’re aiding individuals, and anything you can contribute will make a difference.”

In reaction to the emergency, California has proclaimed a State of Emergency, and President Biden has sanctioned a Major Disaster declaration to bolster relief efforts. Furthermore, Airbnb is stepping in to offer emergency temporary lodging for those affected by the fires.

The situation continues to be serious, and officials are urging everyone to remain updated and offer assistance wherever possible.
