Jimmy Kimmel Becomes Tearful in Moving Monologue about L.A. Wildfires

*Jimmy Kimmel Makes TV Comeback with a Touching Monologue After L.A. Wildfires*

*Jimmy Kimmel Live!* kicked off production again after a short hiatus last week prompted by the tragic wildfires in Los Angeles. The host’s first monologue back on the air was a touching and emotional commentary on the disaster.

“It’s been an incredibly frightening, highly stressful, very unusual week here in L.A. where we work, call home, and where our kids attend school,” Kimmel remarked, clearly moved in the segment. “A lot of us had to evacuate our homes quickly, and some of us have lost our homes.”

Kimmel conveyed how profoundly the fires have affected those around him, emphasizing the extensive destruction throughout the city.

“It’s been horrific. Everyone residing in this city knows someone—most of us know numerous people—families, friends, coworkers, neighbors, who have had their houses destroyed,” he expressed. “And the reality is, we aren’t even certain if it’s over. We experienced winds up to 100 mph intensifying this nightmare. As of tonight, the winds have returned. I believe I represent all of us when I say it has been a disgusting, shocking, terrible ordeal. Yet, in many respects, it has also been a beautiful experience because we again witness our fellow citizens uniting to help one another.”

The wildfires have taken the lives of 24 individuals, with more than 90,000 residents still facing evacuation orders.
