Jimmy Kimmel Gleefully Mocks Trump Regarding His Gold Cards

Donald Trump has unveiled Gold Cards, a scheme allowing affluent individuals to pay $1 million for expedited visa access to the U.S., and Jimmy Kimmel has expressed his views.

“This is a card designed for wealthy foreigners to reside here. For a million dollars, you get legal visitor status, a route to citizenship, and a presidential pardon for one significant crime of your choice,” Kimmel quips in the video above. “Perhaps it’s time to revise that inscription on the Statue of Liberty. Forget about your poor and weary, hand us a million bucks, and you’re in.”

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host goes on to present clips of Trump’s Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, talking on Fox about how the cards will draw “the best individuals” to America.

“Exactly, the best individuals are the wealthy ones,” remarks Kimmel. “It’s what Jesus always mentioned. It’s written in the Bible, he states it’s simpler for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle if you offer the needle a million dollars. Wealthy people are the most excellent individuals, that’s why God has blessed them with riches. And I believe it’s high time our immigration system functioned like the rewards program at one of Trump’s failed casinos.”
