John Oliver Condemns Trump’s “Large, Gorgeous” Legislation

Donald Trump’s “incredible, magnificent bill” is approaching realization, despite the uproar surrounding tax breaks for affluent individuals, concerns regarding food assistance and healthcare coverage, a potential increase of trillions to the nation’s debt, and a provision prohibiting states from regulating AI.

In the Last Week Tonight segment, John Oliver tackles these concerns and more before delivering a critical overview.

“Currently, Republicans are pushing to expedite this bill, as they understand its potential repercussions,” he states. “It might have even been approved by the Senate by the time you view this. And although I recognize there’s a lot in progress right now, it is essential to focus on this bill, because if it becomes law, we’ll be reflecting on it for years to come in the same way we regard all the harmful actions Reagan took. When that time comes, Republicans cannot claim ignorance of its contents or consequences. Anyone who votes in favor of this should be held responsible.”
