Jon Stewart Replies to Elon Musk’s Action at Trump’s Inauguration

Donald Trump’s inauguration day was filled with moments that ignited conversation, ranging from viral fashion choices to the substance of his speech and the reactions it elicited online.

In a segment from *The Daily Show*, Jon Stewart analyzed the day’s happenings, pointing out everything from an awkward motion by Eric Trump to a far more divisive one by Elon Musk. The latter, as noted by Stewart, appeared akin to a Nazi salute, a moment that swiftly attracted significant backlash.

“OK. To be generous, I’m just going to describe that as an awkward, ‘my heart is with you’ gesture. Many of you might have done it like this,” Stewart commented, imitating a more subdued gesture with both hands near his chest. “But, you know, it’s a ****ing nerve-wracking day. You’re not usually a public speaker; it’s a unique gesture…” However, Stewart then showcased another clip of Musk making the same motion, this time aimed at the rear of the stadium. “Son of a bitch,” Stewart retorted.

The comedian also referenced Joe Biden’s last-minute pardons for his family members, providing a grim overview of the day’s occurrences.

“So the summary of this entire day was, a man who attempted to upend the government has been peacefully handed the reins of power, and the outgoing president has initiated a new practice of broadly pardoning everyone associated with him,” Stewart stated. “The two men forming a grand, snake-sucking-its-own-dick cycle of no accountability.”
