Mindy Kaling, the imaginative mind behind celebrated comedy series such as *The Mindy Project*, *Never Have I Ever*, and *The Sex Lives of College Girls*, is teaming up with Netflix for her latest project: a basketball-centric comedy called *Running Point*.
The series features Kate Hudson (*Glass Onion*) in the role of Isla Gordon, an ambitious entrepreneur from Los Angeles whose world is turned upside down when her brother is compelled to resign from their family-run professional basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves, due to a controversy. Isla steps up to take charge, but her path is far from easy. As an underdog, she faces challenges from her brothers, the board, and a doubtful fanbase that questions her leadership skills. Throughout the 10 episodes, Isla endeavors to silence her naysayers and find success on her own terms.
The show highlights a remarkable ensemble cast, including Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman, Chet Hanks, Jay Ellis, Max Greenfield, and Justin Theroux. In addition, Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen come on board alongside Kaling as producers.
*Running Point* is set to debut on Netflix on February 27.
