Jimmy Kimmel has taken aim at President Donald Trump over his latest comments regarding immigration, labeling them “perhaps the most atrocious thing he’s ever stated.” Considering Kimmel’s track record of criticizing Trump, this is a notable assertion.
During a speech in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Trump lamented about immigrants from what he termed “shithole countries” and voiced a desire for “good people” from nations such as Norway, Sweden, and Denmark to enter the U.S.
“We consistently accept individuals from Somalia, regions that are a disaster, right?” Trump remarked. “Filthy, dirty, disgusting, plagued by crime. The only thing they’re skilled at is targeting ships.”
“I always suspected he formed his opinion of Somalia from that Captain Phillips movie on TNT, and now I’m convinced that’s accurate,” Kimmel joked. “Wow, that was racist. I mean, he included the three whitest countries on the guest list. Black country? Lock the doors. That was particularly Trumpy.”
Trump also referred to Kimmel in his speech, perpetuating his open animosity towards the talk show host.
“You’ve referred to me three times now in four days,” Kimmel said, directing his comments at Trump. “I just want you to know I’m thinking about you too, girl.”
