KitKat Heist Tracker: Check if Your KitKat Originates from the Heist

Announcing news on April 1 can be challenging since few take it seriously. For instance, KitKat revealed a unique online tracking tool to find out if bought items were involved in a substantial 12-ton KitKat theft that has drawn significant online interest. The tracker was highlighted on KitKat’s official X account, with guarantees that it is legitimate and not an April Fool’s prank.

The tracker appears to be simple, needing an 8-digit batch code from the rear of a KitKat package. Without a KitKat for testing, entering a random number suggested it wasn’t from the stolen collection. The tracker verifies something, but it remains uncertain what occurs with a valid code.

Regardless of the tracker’s credibility, the theft was genuine. More than 400,000 KitKat bars were taken from a truck traveling between Italy and Poland, leading to memes and worries about the KitKat supply ahead of Easter. Nestle KitKat confirms that there is no risk to the supply chain.
