Meet Ashby: The Viral TikTok Star Famous for Amusing Lorax and Hamilton Outfits

Earlier this week, a fresh TikTok phenomenon surfaced, sporting an orange spandex jumpsuit and an oversized fake yellow mustache. This star is none other than @_ashbyflorence_.

If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok lately, chances are you’ve stumbled upon Ashby. Whether via live broadcasts, trending snippets, or reactions to her videos, she has become a mainstay on numerous FYPs, including my own.

You might catch yourself imitating a TikTok user decked out as the Lorax or Alexander Hamilton, saying phrases like “I’m baaaashful” in a Midwest tone, or “I’m joooking,” or sticking out your tongue like a reptile. Ashby’s distinctive style of viral humor has likely woven itself into your everyday routine.

Who exactly is Ashby? Her actual name seems to be Ashby Florence, and she is involved in PR for an entertainment firm. (Mashable has made attempts to contact Florence for a statement.) However, our focus is on Ashby the viral sensation. She recently gained popularity by portraying Alexander Hamilton, a trend that quickly caught on. One lip-sync video attracted nearly 12 million views.

Ashby presents a version of Hamilton that is exasperated and hurried, which is quite entertaining.

Yet, it’s Ashby’s livestreams where the true comedic gems lie. They’ve given rise to numerous clips, particularly those showcasing her as the Lorax. Why channel the Lorax? It’s visually funny, and others have donned the Lorax persona on TikTok before. But Ashby’s comedic timing, her Midwest accent, and her pronounced features make it exceptional. Her posts fuse traits of the Lorax, Norm from Cheers, Andrew Dice Clay, and Tim Robinson.

What’s the deal with her sticking her tongue out for a punchline? Who can say, but it’s delightful. The rough cuts and distinctive pronunciations enhance the appeal. TikTok users clip her livestreams, relishing their favorite instances. It’s amusing, bizarre, and has taken over my FYP.

Ashby represents the quintessential creator for 2025. She acknowledges she hasn’t viewed The Lorax and humorously requests money, followed by an ITYSL-style “I’m jokinnnn.” She embraces her viral status, repeating catchphrases like “I’m baaaashful” and crafting silly jokes. Ashby pokes fun at creators who act as though they don’t post for profit, and audiences love it. The online feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

What lies ahead? Ashby’s content realm is extensive. There are clips of her as the Lorax, Hamilton, Pitbull, and even her true self. With livestreams extending beyond the usual TikToks, there’s much to delve into.

Ashby has another livestream set for Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET, featuring a surprise character with the tease, “I hope I don’t get too bashful.” Personally, I’m hoping for more Lorax antics. Whatever it may be, it promises to be amusing and charmingly odd.
