Microsoft to Release Urgent Patch for Windows 11 Update Resulting in Extensive Problems

Last week, Microsoft formally ended support for Windows 10, encouraging users to switch to its newest operating system, Windows 11. This action coincides awkwardly with a recent problem in Windows 11.

Regrettably, the recent Windows 11 update from Microsoft has allegedly created complications with various applications and hardware devices, as reported by multiple sources, including CNET. Numerous devices operating on Windows 11 now require an urgent update to rectify problems caused by the prior mandatory update.

The October Windows 11 update reportedly “disrupts localhost (127.0.0.1) HTTP/2 connections,” according to Windows Latest, which also highlighted numerous user difficulties. For example, locally hosted applications could no longer access the network. Windows users additionally discovered that some Logitech devices ceased functioning on their computers. Furthermore, some users reported that their mouse and keyboard were inactive in WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment), and File Explorer documents would not open in the Preview pane due to a misleading security concern.

Microsoft has announced that a solution is on the way in a future update for the issues associated with Windows 11 KB5066835. The company indicates a patch is being deployed, and users should frequently check for updates. However, it might take more than 48 hours for the update to be available to some users.

Mashable previously covered one of the last Windows 10 updates, which resulted in problems such as frame rate drops in games like Fortnite, making them nearly unplayable.

Released in 2021, Windows 11 now possesses nearly 50 percent of the market share. Its forerunner, Windows 10, initially launched in 2015, still commands 40 percent of the PC market share, even after Microsoft terminated support for it earlier this month.

As Microsoft works to shift remaining users to Windows 11, this latest update issue is ill-timed. Microsoft is keen to disseminate the fix to everyone as swiftly as possible.
