Motorola is making another effort with foldable smartphones. The company unveiled the Razr Fold at CES 2020’s Lenovo Tech World, showcasing its latest flagship with a more ambitious take on the Razr design.
In contrast to the nostalgic flip-style Razrs, the Razr Fold is marketed as a productivity tool. When closed, it looks like a regular smartphone with a sizable 6.6-inch external display. When opened, it transforms into an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO screen crafted for multitasking.
Motorola is also enhancing its on-device AI features. Tools like Catch Me Up and Next Move are designed to provide reminders, context, and suggested actions without the need for constant app switching. This is part of Motorola Qira, the new unified AI platform that merges Motorola and Lenovo devices under a single assistant.
The camera specifications are noteworthy: a triple 50MP rear configuration, which includes a periscope telephoto, alongside distinct internal and external selfie cameras. It features Dolby Vision video, stabilization, and a Sony LYTIA sensor handling the majority of the processing. Motorola has also confirmed stylus compatibility, boosting the foldable’s attractiveness.
Moreover, Motorola announced a FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition Razr, showcasing custom branding and software upgrades. Details regarding pricing and availability are still pending, but it’s clear that Motorola intends for the Razr to be both chic and practical.
