Leaks suggest that Jimmy Donaldson, famously known as MrBeast, intends to launch his own mobile phone service by 2026. Business Insider has reported that a confidential pitch deck shows the YouTube sensation’s ambition to step into the telecommunications arena. This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Donaldson and his team to broaden the MrBeast brand, which also encompasses plans for a creator platform and financial services.
Donaldson is not anticipated to build a phone network from the ground up. Rather, the service is likely to operate as a white-label project, featuring MrBeast branding while being managed by a well-established carrier such as Verizon or T-Mobile. This arrangement, referred to as an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), is a common entrepreneurial pursuit among celebrities. Ryan Reynolds had previously co-owned Mint Mobile before its sale to T-Mobile for $1.35 billion.
Although entering the telecom market may appear unconventional, it corresponds with Donaldson’s strategy to branch out beyond traditional media. His brand already comprises a profitable chocolate brand, Feastables; a packaged lunch rival, Lunchy; and the ghost kitchen franchise, MrBeast Burger.
For MrBeast, the mobile phone in your hand could represent the next major opportunity. If just a small segment of his over 400 million subscribers decides to join, it could result in substantial profits down the line.
