Fans Criticize Underwhelming MrBeast-Themed Event in Las Vegas
Supporters of YouTube sensation MrBeast expressed their frustration and disappointment after partaking in a three-night immersive event in Las Vegas that did not meet their expectations.
The gathering, called the “MrBeast Experience at Resorts World,” was held at the Resorts World casino and wrapped up on Tuesday. While promotional content did not specifically promise an appearance by MrBeast—whose actual name is James Donaldson—many participants were disheartened by the absence of engaging activities and disappointing perks.
Attendees reportedly shelled out about $1,000 to join the experience, which was promoted as featuring themed “activations” at the casino’s dining venues and pool. Nevertheless, guests claimed these offerings were either absent or minimal. One of the most significant disappointments was the so-called “mystery bag” sent to guests’ rooms, which included merely branded chocolates and children’s apparel—items some found were already on clearance on MrBeast’s online store.
“There should have been mini-games, meet and greets, photo opportunities, special food and drink options,” participant Theresa Metta told CBS News Las Vegas. “Sadly, we didn’t receive any of that.”
Metta mentioned that she was advised to remain in her hotel room for the mystery gift, only to be let down by what she received. She and fellow attendees felt deceived by the promise of exclusive merchandise.
Annoyed by the unsatisfactory experience, a group of participants confronted Resorts World officials and expressed their grievances directly to the casino’s CEO, Alex Dixon, demanding refunds. Initially, the casino provided only two $50 food and beverage vouchers per attendee. “This experience has been nothing short of horrible,” remarked attendee Desiree Pineda.
However, following increasing backlash, Resorts World changed its stance and issued full refunds to guests on Tuesday evening, according to a report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
While MrBeast did not make an official apology, he did reply to a fan’s complaint on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), indicating that the event “definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver.” He also pledged to invite dissatisfied fans to visit his studio in North Carolina.
Holding over 385 million subscribers, MrBeast is currently recognized as the most-subscribed YouTube channel on the platform. Despite his enormous following and reputation for lavish giveaways, this event has left many fans questioning the delivery of branded experiences associated with his name.
