Netflix’s *La Dolce Villa* Trailer Offers a Charming Italian Getaway

Whenever a story emerges about a charming Italian village enticing foreign buyers with property prices that are exceptionally low, it ignites fantasies of a do-it-yourself getaway shared over drinks among friends. For individuals such as *Mean Girls* director Mark Waters and *A Perfect Pairing* screenwriters Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy, these fantasies evolve into an entire Netflix film.

Introducing *La Dolce Villa*, a movie that resembles a traditional Netflix holiday flick — albeit lacking the festive spirit — set against the stunning vistas of Rome, eastern Lazio, and Tuscany. The trailer, laced with nuances of Parmigiano Reggiano, offers a heartwarming tale infused with a dash of Italian allure.

The film features Scott Foley (*Scandal*, *Felicity*) as Eric, a father whose daughter, Olivia (Maia Reficco, *Do Revenge*), recklessly buys a rundown Italian villa for a mere €11. Naturally, Eric is outraged — that is until he encounters the villa’s captivating mayor, portrayed by Violante Placido, who facilitated the sale. As Olivia points out, Eric was once a chef, and now he finds himself in Italy, of all places. Get ready for the expected journey of self-exploration, replete with culinary delights, romance, and extensive soul-searching. It appears Eric is on the verge of experiencing his own version of “eat, pray, love.”

*La Dolce Villa* will be released for streaming on Netflix beginning February 13.
