New Leak Uncovers Foldable Apple iPhone Almost Set for Production

Apple’s foldable iPhone could soon become a reality, as a report suggests the display’s “finalized specifications” with production anticipated for autumn 2025.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared on X that Apple supplier Foxconn is likely to commence the project in late Q3 or early Q4 2025, specifically between August and November. Previously, Kuo had forecasted a 2026 launch for the foldable iPhone, coinciding with the expected debut of the iPhone 18 series.

Kuo emphasizes that “all plans are still subject to change.” The foldable display of the iPhone is reportedly one of the few parts with confirmed specifications. Samsung Display panels will be utilized, with intentions for an annual production capacity of 7-8 million foldable panels for the 2026 foldable iPhone.

Nevertheless, many component specifications, such as the hinge, are still pending finalization, Kuo noted.

Speculation regarding the foldable iPhone has been ongoing for several years, with Mashable’s Stan Schroeder outlining the latest specs in March. Kuo’s recent update refers to rumored reports of Apple placing orders for 15–20 million foldable iPhones, with expected shipments of several million units each year in 2027 and 2028, potentially due to premium pricing.

And what an extraordinary price it is.
