A New Cross-Platform Bluetooth Tracker Has Launched
Chipolo, a company based in Slovenia renowned for its Bluetooth tracking devices, has unveiled a new product known as the Chipolo POP. Released on April 14, this colorful and compact tracker aims to assist users in keeping track of everyday items such as keys, bags, and luggage. What distinguishes the POP from other trackers available—like Apple’s AirTag or Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag—is its compatibility with both Apple and Google platforms.
Previously, Chipolo provided distinct trackers for each system: the Chipolo Spot functioned solely with Apple’s Find My network, whereas the Chipolo Point catered to Google’s Find My Device framework. The new POP model, however, accommodates both ecosystems, offering users enhanced flexibility no matter if they are using an iPhone, a Samsung Galaxy, or a Google Pixel.
There is one limitation: the Chipolo POP can only connect to one system at a time. This implies that if one individual in a household uses an iPhone and another uses a Pixel, they will not be able to monitor the same device from both phones at the same time. Nevertheless, this marks a significant enhancement over earlier models, particularly for Android users who were previously excluded.
The Chipolo POP boasts a Bluetooth range of up to 300 feet and features a powerful 120db ringtone to assist you in finding your items rapidly. When paired with the Chipolo app, the device can also ring your phone, alert you if you’ve misplaced something, and even serve as a remote shutter for capturing photos. It’s compatible with Android devices running Android 9 or later and integrates effortlessly with Apple’s Find My app, showing up just like an AirTag would.
The tracker has a battery life of one year and is available in six colors: blue, black, green, red, white, and yellow. It can be purchased now on the Chipolo website and Amazon. Individual units are priced at $29, while a four-pack can be acquired for $89.
