After a perplexing press briefing regarding crime statistics in Washington D.C., Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard to the U.S. Capitol, placing it under federal jurisdiction.

In her first appearance as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, comedian and actress Nicole Byer openly confronted Trump’s widely condemned actions by alluding to a notable recent historical incident.

“I mean the guy has a point, D.C. can truly be an extremely perilous place,” Byer comments in the clip above. “I recall on January 6, 2021, when an individual incited an enraged mob to invade the Capitol, and that individual was the president.”
