### What Is *Connections*?
The *New York Times*’ newest word game has taken social media by storm. Puzzle editor Wyna Liu contributed to the creation of *Connections*, which is now a key feature in the *Times*’ Games section. Available on web browsers and mobile devices, the goal is to group four words that share a similar theme.
Each puzzle contains 16 words, categorized into four distinct groups. These categories can include everything from book titles to software brands, countries, and beyond. While many words may seem to fit together, there is only one correct grouping.
When a player successfully identifies a collection of four related words, those words are eliminated from the board. Incorrect guesses, however, count as mistakes, and players are permitted up to four mistakes before the game concludes.
To facilitate easier solving, players can shuffle the board to rearrange the words. Each category features a unique color code:
– **Yellow**: Easiest
– **Green**: Moderate
– **Blue**: Challenging
– **Purple**: Most difficult
Similar to *Wordle*, players can share their outcomes on social platforms.
