### What is *Connections*?

The *New York Times*’ newest word game has become a sensation on social media. Designed with guidance from associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, *Connections* is available in the *Times*’ Games section. It can be enjoyed on both web browsers and mobile devices, challenging players to group four words sharing a common connection.

Each puzzle features 16 words, split into four categories. These categories may include anything from book titles to application names, countries, and more. Even though several words might appear to fit, there is only one right solution.

When a player successfully identifies a set of four linked words, those words are cleared from the board. On the other hand, incorrect guesses count as errors, and players have up to four mistakes before the game concludes.

To help out, players can shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Each category’s difficulty is indicated by color:
– **Yellow** (easiest)
– **Green**
– **Blue**
– **Purple** (most challenging)

Similar to *Wordle*, players can share their results with friends on social media.
