### What is *Connections*?
The *New York Times*’ newest word game has taken the social media world by storm. Puzzle editor Wyna Liu contributed to the creation of *Connections*, which has now become a mainstay in the *Times*’ Games section. Accessible on both web and mobile platforms, the goal is straightforward: categorize four words that reflect a shared theme.
Each puzzle contains 16 words, segmented into four distinct categories. These categories can encompass everything from book titles to software names, nations, and beyond. While several words might appear to belong together, there’s only one accurate answer.
When you successfully identify a group of four words, they are cleared from the board. However, incorrect selections are counted as errors, and players are allowed a maximum of four mistakes before the game concludes.
To facilitate solving, you can shuffle the board to explore new configurations. Moreover, each category is color-coded:
– **Yellow** – Easiest
– **Green** – Moderate
– **Blue** – Challenging
– **Purple** – Most difficult
Similar to *Wordle*, you can share your results with friends via social media.
