### What is *Connections*?

The latest daily word game from the *New York Times* has taken social networks by storm. Crafted with the assistance of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, *Connections* is included in the *Times*’ Games section. You can enjoy it on both web browsers and mobile platforms, and the objective is straightforward: combine four words that share a common theme.

Each puzzle features 16 words, sorted into four categories. These categories can include anything from book titles to software names, countries, and beyond. While numerous words may appear to fit together, there is only one correct grouping.

When you accurately identify a set of four words, they are cleared from the board. However, incorrect guesses are counted as errors, with a maximum of four mistakes allowed before the game concludes.

To assist players, there is an option to shuffle the board for easier identification of connections. Each category is color-coded:
– **Yellow** – Easiest
– **Green** – Moderate
– **Blue** – Challenging
– **Purple** – Most complex
