What is Connections?
The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge has taken social media by storm. The Times acknowledges associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu for developing the game and incorporating it into their Games section. Connections is accessible on web browsers and mobile devices, where players must group four words that share a common connection.
Each puzzle consists of 16 words split into four categories. These groups can range from book titles to country names. While several words may appear connected, there is only one correct solution.
Correctly grouping all four words eliminates them from the board. Incorrect selections are counted as errors, with players allowed a maximum of four errors before the game concludes.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to find connections more efficiently. Each group is assigned a color code, with yellow being the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
