NYT Connections Sports Edition: Clues and Solutions for April 26

Connections: Sports Edition is a unique take on the well-loved New York Times word game, crafted specifically for sports fans.

Much like the original Connections, the aim is to uncover the “common threads among words.” And akin to Wordle, Connections resets every day at midnight, with each new puzzle becoming incrementally tougher. If you hit a roadblock, don’t fret—we provide hints and tips to guide you.

If you’re just seeking today’s solutions, feel free to scroll down. However, if you want to attempt the puzzle on your own, continue reading for some useful clues and tactics.

What is Connections: Sports Edition?

The New York Times has collaborated with The Athletic, its sports-centric publication, to introduce this new daily word challenge. Connections: Sports Edition can be accessed on both web browsers and mobile platforms. The goal? Categorize four words that have a shared connection.

Each puzzle features 16 words, which need to be divided into four specific categories. These categories can cover anything from book titles to software names to nations—and while several words may appear to belong together, only one grouping is accurate.

When you successfully pinpoint a set of four connected words, they vanish from the board. But be cautious: every wrong guess counts as an error, and you’re allowed only four mistakes before the game concludes.

To facilitate the process, you can rearrange the board to discover new patterns. Each category is distinguished by color-coded difficulty: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple (most challenging). Similar to Wordle, you can share your outcomes with friends on social platforms.
