Similar to the original Connections, your objective is to organize four words that are connected by a common theme. As with Wordle, the puzzle refreshes daily at midnight—bringing a unique challenge each day.

🎮 What Is Connections: Sports Edition?

This updated version of the NYT’s daily word challenge is developed in collaboration with The Athletic, the Times’ sports-oriented platform. It can be played on both desktop and mobile browsers.

Each puzzle features 16 words. Your job? Arrange them into four groups of four, each tied together by a common theme. Take caution—some words might appear to fit into several categories. There is only one correct answer.

You can make up to four errors before the game concludes. To assist, you can shuffle the board to reveal new combinations. Each group is highlighted by difficulty:

– Yellow: Easiest
– Green: Moderate
– Blue: Harder
– Purple: Most challenging
