Connections: Sports Edition is the latest iteration of the well-liked New York Times word challenge aimed at assessing sports enthusiasts’ knowledge.
Like the original Connections, this game focuses on identifying “shared themes among words.” Similar to Wordle, Connections refreshes after midnight, with each new word set becoming increasingly difficult—therefore, we’ve included some hints and suggestions to assist you.

What is Connections Sports Edition?
The NYT‘s newest daily word challenge, launched in collaboration with The Athletic, can be accessed on web browsers and mobile devices. Players are tasked with categorizing four words that share a common connection.
Each puzzle comprises 16 words organized into four groups. These categories may encompass book titles, software, country names, and more. Although several words might appear to connect, there is solely one correct grouping.
If a player successfully organizes all four words, they will be eliminated from the board. An incorrect guess is counted as a mistake—players are allowed four mistakes before the game concludes.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to discover connections more conveniently. Each grouping is color-coded: yellow is the simplest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Likewise, as in Wordle, results can be shared on social media platforms.
